beware of scams

Fellow couch potatoes, you might want to hear this:

Hettinger, ND (PRWEB) January 2, 2007 — Looking for a new gimmick to jump start your New Year’s diet? How about a real staple that pierces cartilage in your upper ear to suppress appetite? Or a detoxification plan said to clean toxins and pollution out of your body?

“Save your money - and save your health,” Francie M. Berg, chair of the Weight Loss Abuse Task Force of the National Council against Health Fraud, tells radio listeners. These are just two of the year’s “worst” weight loss schemes highlighted by Berg in announcing the 18th annual Slim Chance Awards.
“There are countless products out there that promise quick weight loss. Most of them are total scams that make your wallet thinner, but not your body. Some cause injury and death. And in a dangerous new trend they now target children.”

If there is any of you who are conscious of your diet, just beware of this kinds of products. It is okay to try losing weight but we must be very very careful in doing so.

“Excerpt from The Best Life Diet - by Oprah Winfrey
Another thing I know for sure now is that you’ve got to ask yourself, What kind of life do you want and how close are you to living it? You cannot ever live the life of your dreams without coming face to face with the truth. Every unwanted pound creates another layer of lies. It’s only when you peel back those layers that you will be set free: Free to work out, free to eat responsibly, free to live the life you want and deserve to live. Tell the truth and you’ll learn to eat to satisfy your emotional hunger and stop burying your hopes and dreams beneath layers of fat.

A young woman on my show who had been struggling with her weight once said to me she’d learned to challenge the pain and not the peanut butter. I thought that was brilliant. Once you work on what’s eating you, you won’t want to eat so much.

The Best Life Diet plan on the following pages mirrors the way I eat and live now. There is no secret to losing weight. It’s simple physics; what you put in vs. what you put out.

I lost weight in stages. First I became active, and I still work out even though I really hate it, but I know if I don’t I will end up 200 pounds again. Then I started working on my eating. I stopped eating past 7:30 at night. When Bob told me it would make a big difference in my weight, I resisted. I thought it was going to be too hard. But I was surprised to find that it wasn’t; even more surprised when it turned out to be one of the most effective changes I made.

I’ve now taken most of the bad foods out of my diet and replaced them with good. I eat smaller portions and I eat healthy foods as a way of life, not a diet to go on and off. And I’m always working on getting better. My diet is a work in progress.”

Being a couch potato, diet is really important for us. Since we are prone to obesity, but doesn’t want physical activities that much, we have to opt for diet. We have to be well-motivated in doing it for us to stay healthy. Once we are motivated enough, it would be easy for us to do and achieve it. Once we have started it, it will eventually be a natural thing for us.
