You don’t have to join heavy activities just to make yourself fit.  If you have the qualities of a couch potato, but don’t want to stay on the couch, then go out and do some walking.  Visit a neighbor, have some chit chats or share cooking ideas and the likes.  Maybe you can as well organize some activities in the neighborhood.  Like family day, charity activities, and the likes.

There are so many things that you can do off the couch that doesn’t require a great amount of physical strength.  Just be creative and enjoy it.

Couch Slouch?

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Years ago, there was a protest done by farmers to change the “couch potato” to “couch slouch” in the dictionary because it spoils the real meaning of the potato. Potatoes are full of vitamins and is really good for our health. But isn’t it unfair for the couch potatoes that we are seen as totally unhealthy and our image is really negative. Though it cannot really be changed into “couch slouch” that easily because people are used to it already, maybe we can prove them that we are as positive as a potato.

There is no doubt how healthy a potato is and how much it can do good for our health. But it is not the exact opposite of the couch potato. Couch potatoes can also be productive in their own way. You might be surprised to know how much knowledge are stored on couch potatoes. Television is one of the most effective medium in communication, and thus, couch potatoes learn a lot from watching tv. They may not be as active and as fit as others, but they are as substantial as a potato.  Just because they are couch potatoes, they are useless.  No, they might even have the best ideas in mind than the fittest person around which they can use in business and be successful in it.

A person doesn’t necessarily have to be physically fit to succeed in life.  Health issue could be another story.  But there are a lot of good qualities that a couch potato possess than his physical looks.
