Gym Rat

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Gym rat is someone who spends most of his/her time in the gym.  Sure thing couch potatoes aren’t gym rats, right?  How about considering yourself going to the gym?  Just to trim up your weight and flex your muscles.  Maybe you won’t imagine yourself a gym rat.  But who knows who will ever be?  Just start going to the gym to stay fit.  You don’t have to be a gym rat if you don’t want to.  Just spending a few hours a day and few days a week won’t harm you, right?

In the gym, stay focused on your workout and think of your time.  Most gym rats are actually not being efficient.  They stay longer in the gym because of some reasons.  They sometimes fall into deep conversations or chit-chats that they are not aware how long have they been there.  Also, avoid redundant exercises.  Maybe having yourself a time limit of your stay in the gym would help.  Then be sure you make your stay in the gym worthy of your time by being efficient.

But if you don’t feel like going to the gym but you feel like you must go to, befriend a gym rat.  Maybe he/she can influence you to go to the gym and stay more often.

Hi-tech Gym for Couch Potato Kids

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

With the emerging high technology, more and more console games are sprouting and so are couch potato kids. These games are being a culture already for kids. Even adults are also addicted to this hobby which makes them more a couch potato. So to help them with their fitness concerns, a hi-tech gym may lure them into getting fit.

In Pendle leisure Centre in Colne, Lancahire, 25 exercise bikes were linked to a special computer game that lets the riders compete against each other which they call Exertris Interactive Bikes. It also has plasma screen TVs, virtual projection and lights that really fits the youngsters.

Going into the gym won’t let the kids feel that they are there only to exercise but to have fun as well. This concept is great in motivating people to get fit and promoting physical fitness. Creating different concepts for gyms really is a good idea. So, for the owners, they might consider creating concepts that fit to their target market. The usual gym environment sometimes is boring and uninteresting.
