Get Smarter with Exercise

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Exercise is not only for weight loss purposes or for body health.  It affects our mood and our well-being.  It helps us think more clearly and also feel good about ourself that it gains us more confidence.

For those who suffer with depression, they are more likely to convert themselves into a couch potato.  Hey! Be smart enough to get smarter!  Instead of isolating yourself, get yourself healthier and smarter.  Take time to exercise.  It will help you think better and get rid of depression.

For couch potatoes, get up and do some moves.  What we must really avoid here is laziness.  If you confess yourself to be a couch potato, be sure you are not the lazy one as what people perceive a couch potato is.  Once in a while, move your body, flex your muscles, and let out some sweats.  There is nothing wrong being a couch potato.  But have time to care for your health.  It’s not only for your body but for your brain as well.

Time For a Change?

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Are you thinking of change?  Are you a couch potato and wanted to do something physical but is in doubt if you can do it?  I have read from someone that a couch potato girl wanted to join a marathon but is worried that she cannot make it because she gets so tired so easily.  So, some physical activities are not easily done for couch potatoes because of his lifestyle.  It may be hard to adjust at first, but with a little patience and perseverance, you will eventually cope with it.  As for that couch potato girl who wanted to join a marathon, what she did was to practice by taking a walk everyday with her dog.  That simple things can help us develop physical strength.

If being a couch potato hinders you to do physical things that you wanted to do,  fear no more.  Being a couch potato doesn’t mean that you’ll be in the couch forever; it doesn’t mean that you have no right to join physical activities; that you don’t belong to a group of people who play sports and the likes.  You are always welcome to things or activities like that.  If you worry that you may not make it, then you can do it gradually.  Even sportsmen do the stretching first before going into the court or field.

Don’t pity yourself for not being able to do physical activities because you can also do it if you want to.  Don’t envy the people who are physically active just because you are not.  You can always do these things if you want to.  The decision is always in you.  Just don’t lose the courage to try different things.
