Not Proud?

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Are you not proud of being a couch potato?  We sometimes think that some people look down on us because they thought that we couldn’t do any better than staying on the couch.  The effect of this on us then is a low self-esteem which makes us stay more on the couch and hide from people.  By doing this, we only show them that they won against us and we let them do it.

This will result to loving ourselves less.  Which is really a poor thing for us.  We shouldn’t be ashamed of being a couch potato.  We should not let other people affect our being.  If they criticize you of being a couch potato, you should show them wrong of their judgment on us.  Low self-esteem will generally do us no good.  If we have goals in life, it will hinder our success.  We may think that we can’t make it because we’re just a couch potato.  Of course you can!  Being a couch potato doesn’t make you less of a person.  We possess several advantages.  We are more aware of the latest events by being on the couch; relaxation makes us healthy, with all the hustles in life, we really need to relax.

If you get affected by the criticisms that you receive from other people because you are a couch potato, it should be in a  positive way.  It should make you stronger as a person by not tolerating it to cause you lower self-esteem.  Instead, think of the things that you have done and the advantages of being a couch potato.  Make it as your motivation to do more useful things.  Lastly, be proud. . . love yourself!

State of Depression

Friday, February 9th, 2007

One reason for being a couch potato of a person is depression.  When one is depressed, tendency is for him to just stay home and do nothing.  Sometimes just there on the couch watching television but doesn’t really understand whatever he’s watching.  They are too preoccupied with the cause of their depression.  So the television is just there as a props.

If you are one of them, then I say you’re a loser.  Forget about what makes you feel that way.  Instead, go get some popcorn or any snack convenient for you, find a comfortable position on the couch, find an interesting TV program or you can rent a movie and, enjoy the show!

You can set the mood of the room into the mood you want.  Try to set a dim light while watching a drama series or a movie.  This might just ease up your depression.  Eventually you will gain back your strength and confidence to face the trials in your life.  Don’t just sit in front of the television doing nothing but thinking of the pain you had.  Being a couch potato must do you good.
